Santa Cruz del Sur to substitute imports

Santa Cruz del Sur to substitute importsSanta Cruz del Sur, Oct 19. –The National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), in Southern Camaguey exhorted the people to take advantages of the potentials of the cooperative and rural sector, which provide more than two thirds of the agricultural and livestock production.

Among the strategies to be taken, we find the need to boost the pork meat production, no only because of its protein value, but also because of what this sector means for the cleaning up of the finances.

In this sense, it has been examined that the improvement of the pork meat production must be in correspondence with what the country plan for the year 2011, and that result must be achieved with a notorious drop of the fodder that nowadays is imported.

Likewise, the members of this sector have been urged to boost the sugar cane production, crops wasting, fodder, corn and soy been, among other options for the animal feeding, in order to contribute to the substitution of imports.  (Rolando Canaura Sánchez/ Radio Santa Cruz)
