Increased Support to Cuban 5
Havana, Apr 22. -To support the cause of five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in US jails currently maintains strength and resistance of those men, the daughter of the one of them stated. According to press reports, Rene Gonzalez' firstborn daughter Irma Gonzalez, said in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila that the island will not stop demanding for the release of her father and his other partners.
The girl, known for her allegations as Irmita, is attending the "Haciendo Almas" community project in that territory, which spreads the history of Rene, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez and Ramón Labañino.
The Five, as they are universally known, also have support by the international solidarity movement, including culture, science figures and Nobel prizewinners, Irmita said.
The new plot between the US government and the European Union to falsify Cuba's reality has also the objective of deviating world attention about the trial of such men, she noted.
The Five were detained on September 12, 1998, for monitoring terrorist actions against the island, organized by ultra-right groups settled in Florida.(Prensa Latina)
