Friends of Cuba in Haiti Urge Cuban Five Release

Port-au-Prince, Jun 9. – The Club Friends of Cuba of Leogane, west Haiti, expressed its solidarity with the five Cuban anti-terrorists jailed in the United States.

Club President Jimmy Doriscat, read at a meeting a letter from Antonio Guerrero, one of the Cuban Five, on Gerardo Hernandez who turned 47 on June 6th, and recites poems by French poet Arthur Rimbaud.

"No word may describe this brother's honesty and integrity; he never ever harmed anyone, he rather devoted his life to save other people's lives, sacrificing every moment of infinite love he could have lived with his beloved Adriana," said Antonio.

The friends in Leogane join to congratulate Gerardo and shout: Venceremos (we shall overcome).

Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino and Rene Gonzalez were arrested September 12, 1998 in Miami and in slanted trial they were imposed abusive sentences in 2001 that range from life term to life plus 15 years.

Numerous world organizations and personalities defend the Cuban Five. They just infiltrated violent Florida-based groups, made up of elements of Cuban decent, to warn their country and the United States against their terrorist operations.(Prensa Latina)
