Brazil President Begins Bulgaria Visit

Brasilia, Oct 5. -President Dilma Rousseff begins on Wednesday the first official visit of a Brazilian head of State to Bulgaria, the hometown of his father Peter Rousseff."My expectation in Bulgaria is a journey of two kinds: a trip abroad of the Brazilian president, but also a journey of a person whose father is Bulgarian, and a part of my roots is in Bulgaria," Rousseff told reporters in Belgium, before travelling to Sofia.

Rousseff highlighted Brazil's capacity to welcome, support and transform in Brazilians the people coming from many places of the world, saying they "are Europeans, Africans, indigenous people, Asians."

A note from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that during her two-day visit to Bulgaria, Rousseff expects to meet with President Georgi Parganov and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

Issues such as bilateral cooperation in education, information technology, energy and transportation will be discussed in those meeting, states the note. (Prensa Latina)
