Syria: 7 Die after Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday

Damascus, Aug 30. -At least seven people died on Tuesday during the clashes between opposition armed groups and police forces following the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday, the day that marks the end of the Ramadan, while protests against the government continue.

The events took place in the province of Deraa early Tuesday morning when Islam worshippers attended the prayers of the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday.

According to official media of the capital, violent opposition groups, which the Government accuses of being part of terrorist groups, caused problems and tried to turn a peaceful demonstration of those that attended the Muslim Eid al-Fitr into a protest.

Security forces and opposition forces clashed killing four civilians in the town of Al-Harra town and another two perished in Inkhil. A seventh person died in Homs. (Prensa Latina)
