Sport competition dedicated to May day in Southern CamagüeySanta Cruz del Sur, Apr 22. –Saluting May 1st and as part of the sport activities organized by the Nacional Institute of Recreation and Physical Education (INDER) in this territory, it was recently developed an A Jugar ( Lets Play) Program where teachers and students from four primary schools attended.

Osvaldo Guevara Moreno has a vast experience as teacher of this subject; he is a perennial educator in several sport disciplines. Its from the very early ages that sports practice develops the children. They can grow up healthy, play, interact. A healthy mind in a healthy body is very important.

I like basketball, said Jennifer Betancourt Corona, student from the José Martí Primary School. I have a good height to play this sport. I feel good when I work my body out, I have more energy and feel more eager to study.

Alberto Casimiro Torres, is a student from the Ignacio Agramonte Primary School. He I s a regular student, easygoing and very respectful. I have learned this from my parents. Baseball is my favourite, and I like to play short stop he said.

Roxana Rodríguez Toledo, studies at the Fabricio Ojeda Primary School. She is in sixth grade. I am doing very well there; I do all the homework and like to play chess, athletics, and volleyball in my free time. I think I am pretty good, she said.

Runners from both sexes attending the event showed a great speed and endurance in the various branches of athletics where they competed. After the activity, referees and jury said there was a draw between José Martí and Fabricio Ojeda with 44 points, while Frank País and Ignacio Agramonte got 28 and 26 points respectively.
