Minsk, April 13. -The number of dead rose to 12 on Tuesday from a subway explosion in the Belarusian capital, as police searched for the perpetrator.
The attack, which occurred on a platform between the Oktiaberskaya and Kupolovskaya stations, also left 149 people injured, 22 of whom were in very serious condition and 30 in serious condition, health authorities said.
State Security KGB)said the bombing occurred Monday at about 7 p.m. local time, rush hour.
Retired KGB Col. Valeri Kostko told reporters that it was unlikely that religious or nationalist motivations were behind the attack, and also ruled out members of the political opposition.
