Human Factor: Havana Restoration GoalHavana, Mar. 10. -The restoration work of the Historical Center and other places of the Cuban capital has the human factor as its main goal, said Havana Historian Eusebio Leal. In a statement to Prensa Latina, Leal said that it is not only about a recreation of Havanaâ�Ös beauty and architecture, but also calling the attention on social matters, such as housing and environment.

"We make emphasis on the role of the elementary school, the junior, and senior high school, the workshop school, the women, the treatment of gender, the children, and the elderly," said Leal.

The Historical Center has been locally and internationally awarded, including the World Heritage award given by UNESCO.

The Havana Historian office is also carrying out restoration works in different historical places of the capital, such as the Prado Promenade, Havanaâ�Ös Grand Theater, among others.

The 2011 plans include continuing restoration works in the University of Havana, and Colon Cemetery, as the building of houses in the Havana neighbourhoods of Alamar and Capdevila. (Prensa Latina)
