Southern operators immersed in the sugarcane millionaire movementSanta Cruz del Sur, Mar 2. –Immersed in the cuts, transfer, and processing of the sugarcane in the current sugarcane harvest, the agro industrial workers from Santa Cruz del Sur mark next March 3rd the anniversary number 46th of the millionaire sugarcane movement.

In this sense six operators from here are taking the first step in order to achieve the first million sugarcane arrobas cut in the current season.

Edisbel Olivera, FROM Los Pinos Basic Unit of Cooperative Production, in Haiti, is in the lead with more than 4400 tons of sugarcane cut so far, the second and third places are under the command of Lázaro Gutiérrez and Yoel Pérez Cutiño, from the Horacio Cobiellas Agricultural Production Cooperative, and the fourth place lays under the arms of Adrián Martínez  Fomero from the “21 de Octubre” UBPC, in Cándido González.

The Cuban sugarcane millionaire movement was founded on March 3rd 1965 in the southern region from La Habana, and nowadays it spreads all over the island as a way to achieve more production, efficiency and the substitution of imports. Katia Rodriguez Pérez/Radio Santa Cruz)
