More than 56,000 Russian Tourists Visited Cuba in 2010

Moscow, Jan 5. -In 2010, 56,234 Russian tourists visited Cuba, nearly 19,000 more than in 2009, sources of the sector reported.

The figures confirm the Cuban historical record of vacationers in 2010.

Aeroflot airline, based in the capital airport Sheremetievo, has a daily frequency of flights to the Caribbean island, said the office of the Ministry of Tourism in Russia.

Also, Transaero airline concentrated in the southwestern gate of Damaedovo performs two weekly direct flights from this city and an equal number from the northern city of St. Petersburg to the famous beach resort of Varadero.

The cruise ship Adrinan will beging visiting Cuba in 2011, which will help to increase the volume of tourists, Estefania Escobar, representive of the Tourism Ministry in Cuba told Prensa Latina .

In 2009, the number of vacacionists who visited Cuba was around 37,000. Therefore, the figures for 2010 reinforce the conviction that Cuba is becoming a popular destination in Russia. (Prensa Latina)
