Russia: International Book Fair Opens
Moscow, Sep 7. -The 24th Moscow International Book Fair opens Wednesday with almost 1,500 participants from over 50 countries, including Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico and Italy as the guest of honor.Vladimir Grigoriev, deputy chief of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communication (Rospechat) told Prensa Latina that Russia maintains its traditional bonds with the Cuban publishing industry.
The Cuban stand at the fair features over 100 titles, including books about Fidel Castro, and Cuban tradition, culture and religion, among other topics.
At a press conference, Grigoriev said 500 exhibitions and activities were planned for the Sept. 7-12 fair.
This year, the focus will be on strengthening the publication of books in digital format, and a library of digital books will be made available for sale during the fair. (Prensa Latina)
