More Russian Tourists Arriving in Cuba

Moscow, Aug 29. -The number of Russian tourists visiting Cuban resorts have significantly increased with a figure closed to 46,000 travelers, reported the representative of the island''s Tourism Ministry in Russia.The total of 45,847 Russian tourists that have visited Cuba this year till August is twice the figure of 22,840 in 2009 and much higher than the 29,818 number of the same period of 2010, explained to Prensa-Latina the Mintur representative for Russia and Eastern Europe Estefania R. Escobar.

For September 2011 the Mintur will have a 40 meter-stand at Leisure Tourism Fair, at the Krokus City exhibition hall in Moscow, she said. The Mintur office in Moscow is carrying out the campaign that started in 2010 "Authentic Cuba", making emphasis on the images Sun, Beaches, Cays, city, history, sports and the arts among other products that show the life in the Caribbean nation.

Mintur and the Havanatur office in Russia are expected to attend the Mocow fair as well as representatives from Cubatur, Iberostar, Barcelo, Cubanacan, Sandals, Hoteles C, Habaguanex and Grand Caribbean.

In 2011-Leisure, Cuba will mainly promote tourist resorts in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo.

The head of the Mintur office said that the next Tourism Fair in Cuba (FitCuba-2012), dedicated in this occasion to Argentine, will specially promote the Villa Clara cays. Consequently, the event will be held in Cayo Santa Maria (Santa Maria Cay).

At the end of that tourism fair, scheduled September 26-30, Cuba will hold the Turnat Nature 2011, which will be covered by the Russian press. (Prensa Latina)
