Dozens of Hondurans Kidnapped in MexicoTegucigalpa, Jun 30. -About 60 to 80 Honduran immigrants were reported kidnapped by the Los Zetas drug cartel in Veracruz, Mexico, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Alden Rivera.

According to various reports, Los Zetas took over a train in the town of Medias Aguas on Friday, kidnapping at least 250 undocumented Central American immigrants.

This abduction is like the one that happened last year, Rivera said, adding that Honduras had asked the Mexican government for preliminary information.

On August 22, 2010, organized criminal gangs murdered 72 Central and South American migrants in the town of San Fernando, in the northern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, and at least 30 of the victims were Honduran. (Prensa Latina)
