Havana, Apr 13. – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong met with the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, whom he considered a brother. "The meeting was very cordial and interesting, without any protocol; like brothers living together in the same house. Fidel held my hands for several minutes and said he was happy. We, Vietnameses, feel great respect for Fidel and his people," said Phu Trong in an interview with the newspaper Granma.
At the meeting, both political leaders reflected on political issues, and also on science and technology.
"Fidel recalled his visit to Vietnam in 1973. He referred to my words in the political act that took place yesterday at Hai Phong pier and to the deep feelings of friendship between Cuba and Vietnam."
According to Rhu Trong, the leader of the Cuban Revolution was also interested in several policies applied in the Asian nation that coincide with the economic guidelines of the Communist Party of Cuba, as well as in the agricultural development in Vietnam.
"At all times, Fidel proved to be very clear-minded, educated and with a very logical and scientific approach. And we believe that leaders must have these qualities, they have to be concrete," said Phu Trong, who arrives to the end of his visit to the Caribbean island.(Prensa Latina)
