Bolivia Moves to Control Food Prices

La Paz, Oct 27. -Bolivia's Central Bank (BCB) assured that food price control defends consumers and may help reduce inflation, predicted at 6% for this year, and protect consumers. The state-run daily Cambio says the BCB report confirms that its policies fully match the government's security and food sovereignty policies and statements published and outlined in the Annual Report or Monetary Policy Analysis, among other fiscal reports.

Such studies, which also chart national indicators, reflect the price policies to counteract speculation and contraband that flourished from 2007-2008 and from 2010-2011. (Prensa Latina)
