Libya: Muammar Gaddafi Was Killed, Doctor Confirms

Tripoli, Oct 21. -Libya's former leader Muammar Gaddafi was killed, according to the doctor who examined his body, reported Friday Al Arabiya news channel.Dr. Ibrahim Tika affirmed to Al Arabiya that Gaddafi was hit by a bullet in the head and another in the stomach, after he was captured in his hometown, Sirte.

Qatar's Free Libya TV channel quoted Friday the spokesperson of the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC), Mahmoud Shammam, affirming that Gaddafi's sons, Mutasim and Saif Al-Islam Al-Gaddafi, were killed in the city of Sirte, but in separated events that had nothing to do with the alleged summary execution of their father.

Gaddafi's body is still in Misratah, where he was taken after being killed in Sirte.

Gaddafi will be buried in accordance to Islamic tradition but he will not have a public funeral to prevent the place to further become a symbol, noted Shamman.

Meanwhile, Gaddafi's murder in Libya after being captured alive has raised numerous claims Friday in United Nations which called for an investigation.

Spokesperson for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, Rupert Colville, stated that the circumstances surrounding Gaddafi's death are being questioned given the four or five different versions about what happened. (Prensa Latina)
