Cuban Hurdler in Diamond League Race

Madrid, Sep 7. -Cuban Dayron Robles will run Thursday in the men's 110m hurdles event in Zurich, the final stage of the 2011 Diamond League.Robles, an Olympic champion and world record-holder, will be completely focused on winning this race, which follows his being disqualified from the World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

In Daegu, Robles won the title in the men's 110m hurdles, but then was disqualified after a complaint was filed stating he had touched and obstructed Chinese runner Liu Xiang during the race, an incident that sparked controversy around the world.

In Zurich, Robles will face his main rivals from the United States, including David Oliver and Aries Merritt, and current world champion Jason Richardson, who had placed second in Daegu and benefitted from Robles' disqualification.

Britons Andrew Turner and William Sharman will also run in the men's 110m hurdles in Zurich.

After participating at the final stage of the Diamond League, Robles will focus completely on the Pan-American Games of Guadalajara, scheduled for October. (Prensa Latina)
