Cuba: Viñales, Window to a World Heritage Site Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Aug 4. – The visitor center of the Viñales National Park, a Cuban site declared a World heritage, welcomed more than 80,000 visitors, chiefly foreigners, over the last eight years. Since its foundation in 2002 and until late 2010, the site offered services to tourists coming from Germany, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Holland, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and other countries.

Individuals and groups of tourists enjoyed the ecotourism services of the site, distinguished with the title World Heritage Cultural site since 1999.

Offers of the Center of Visitors include trips through caves and hillocks, typical hills of the region, Yoel Martinez, director of the National Park, told Prensa Latina.

He added that the Wonders of Vinales route is the favourite for tourists who love nature, as it is ideal for watching birds in an exuberant flora.

Along with the peculiar hills, the visitors can observe deep-rooted traditions in the tobacco plantations.(Prensa Latina)
