Battle for Efficiency Will Mark Cuban Economy in 2011Havana, Dec 17. -Savings will mark the Cuban economy in 2011 as the country continues its strategy of replacing imports and efficiently complying with investment agreements.

Despite difficulties, the current year was positive for exports, Economy and Planning Minister Marino Murillo said on the first day of the 6th Ordinary Session of the 7th Legislature, which was chaired by President Raul Castro.

It is necessary to focus on export plans in 2011; therefore, physical production must increase in sectors with favorable prices on the international market, Murillo stated.

Murillo called upon all institutions to be disciplined and prepared, and to carry out better comprehensive analyses in all sectors with regards to investment, production, and export processes.

He also called for continuing the battle for savings, an indispensable tool to ensure the fulfilment of economic plans, and to anticipate funding for continuing projects in 2011. (Prensa Latina)
