Cuban, Salvadoran Presidents for Increasing Ties Havana, Oct 5. – The presidents of Cuba, Raul Castro, and El Salvador, Mauricio Funes, highlighted their common willingness to reinforce economic and trade relations and cooperation.

After the welcoming ceremony, Raul Castro and Funes met at the Palace of the Revolution on Monday afternoon, and dealt with the current state of bilateral relations, restored in June 2009.

They also exchanged viewpoints on international issues, according to a Cuban television report.

The talks were part of the official visit Funes is making to Havana, and were also attended by Salvadoran Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez, and his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, and Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo.(Prensa Latina)
