Baku, Apr 6.- Cuba rejected the U.S. military threat, hostility and economic aggression against Venezuela, during the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in this capital.

We consider unilateral, unjust and arbitrary coercive measures and the external interference against the Bolivarian process that threaten peace and dialogue among Venezuelans, with destabilizing purposes, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Abelardo Moreno, said.

The head of the Cuban delegation to the 18th NAM Ministerial Meeting stated that for that organization, the threat of military intervention or destruction against any of its member states is unacceptable.

Moreno denounced that while Cuba strengthens ties of collaboration with the rest of the world, the U.S. government intensifies its criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade against his country, including the extraterritorial dimension, he said.

Washington imposed new obstacles to the limited possibilities of its business to trade and invest in Cuba, and additional restrictions on the travel of its citizens, while using a rhetoric against Cuba in the style of the Cold War, the diplomat said.

NAM continues to be the main forum for coordination of the countries of the South and, despite the complex international scenario, maintains its activism in the main processes underway in the different multilateral headquarters, the Deputy Foreign Minister said.

The eradication of hunger, poverty and social exclusion continue as a challenge, said Moreno, who is attending the ministerial meeting in this capital, on the Caspian coast, which will host the NAM summit next year. (Prensa Latina)
