Interns from 19 Countries Held Meeting with Cuban ChefsCamagüey, Cuba, Jan 18.- Interns from 19 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean studying here held a meeting with a group of chefs in the first culinary exhibition celebrated in Cuba this year.

The specialists showed different dishes of Cuban cuisine in a space dedicated to solidarity and world peace promoted by the representation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP in Spanish) in Camagüey and the International Culinary Society Nitza Villapol in the province.

Chef Frank Rodriguez, promoter of the initiative, thanked the foreign students their support to the cause of the Cuban Five, as Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González are known internationally.

Hernández, Labañino and Guerrero were released last 17 December in US prisons (Fernando and René had previously returned to the island after serving their sentences), as a result of the agreement between Havana and Washington to move towards normalization of ties.

The solidarity evening organized by ICAP in Camagüey, about 570 kilometers east of Havana, was attended by 10 chefs who are members of the International Society Nitza Villapol, a missing chef, author of cooking books, and creator of the Cuban Kitchen TV Show "Cocina Al Minuto".(Prensa Latina)
