Legal Violations in Case of Cuban 5 Denounced

Moscow, Nov 3. -U.S. justice has violated its own laws and converted alleged incriminating evidences into secret material in the case of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in that northern nation, Olga Salanueva stated on Thursday. In remarks to Russia Today television channel in Spanish, Salanueva, wife of Rene Gonzalez, one of the Cuban Five, described the inhuman isolation conditions the Cuban Five have been subjected to.

"We will appeal on the innocence of our compatriots, with new elements such as the fact that the media and the main newspapers, in charge of covering the case, were paid by the U.S. government," Rene's wife revealed.

Media was an important element that in an anti-Cuban environment as Miami, where the trial against the Cuban Five was held, contributed to stigmatize them, she noted.

Salanueva also explained details of the moment in which her husband was released from prison, after 13 years of terrible imprisonment, and now forced to live in U.S. territory for another three years.
