Mass Demonstration in Deir Ezzor Backs Syrian Gov’t

Damascus, Nov 1. -Thousands of Syrians packed on Tuesday Sabaa Bahrat Square, in Deir Ezzor city, expressing their support to President Bashar al-Assad and to the reform plan he is implementing.Reports affirm that inhabitants from neighboring cities joined the demonstration to show their support to al-Assad's Government and to reject the foreign intervention in Syria's domestic affairs.

In Deir Ezzor and some localities of that bordering province with Irak, violent actions, egged on by extremist groups that committed vandalistic actions against public institutions and the population in general, were registered after protests began in March.

At present, calm and stability have returned to the region and this mass demonstration proves that Syrians support the government and President al-Assad, according to authorities.

On the other hand, delegations of Syrian communities living abroad continue arriving in Damascus to reject foreign intervention. (Prensa Latina)
