Bolivian President Considers Necessary UN Revolution

Havana, Sep 19. -A revolution in the United Nations is necessary to stop the Security Council dictatorship, said Bolivian President Evo Morales. The UN resolution of last March acted as an umbrella for NATO air strikes against Libya, Morales told Prensa Latina on Sunday.

According to Morales, international bodies should not allow NATO forces, led by the United States, to organize military attacks against Libya.

The UN Security Council is composed by 15 countries, including five permanent nations having the right to veto: the US, United Kingdom, France, China, and Russia.

Regarding the need to reform the UN and its inability to defend the international law, Morales also emphasized on Washington´s lack of respect to a world request of stopping the economic, trade, and financial blockade against Cuba.

In 2010, 187 nations supported Cuba, and only the US and Israel voted against the world request.

Washington does not have any respect, and the UN does not enforce any regulations, said Morrales, who will speak at an upcoming high-level UNGA meeting. (Prensa Latina)
