Quintin Dominguez, director of the specialized cultivation in the region, highlighted to Prensa Latina that they achieved yields of 104 tons per hectare, more than double that obtained with other fruit varieties.

Currently, the province uses 600 hectares of its land for the cultivation of pineapple, and the next campaign aims to plant about 70 hectares with shoots of the MD-2 pineapple, Dominguez said.(Prensa Latina)
