Cuban VP Highlights Solidarity of the Revolution

Cuban VP Highlights Solidarity of the RevolutionCaracas, Jan 4. -Cuba developed its vocation of solidarity with the peoples of Africa and Latin America since the very start of the Revolution, Cuban Vice President Jose Machado Ventura said, referring to the aid recently given to Venezuela.

"We have a spirit of solidarity. We do not give away what is left over, but share what we have; that is our policy and we are consistent with it," noted Machado, who is currently visiting Venezuela, a country that was affected by heavy rains that sparked landslides and flooding, forcing authorities to evacuate 130,000 people.

Machado reiterated that his visit responds to the situation triggered by the rains and reaffirmed CubaâÖs willingness to provide any aid within the countryâÖs reach, noting that new necessities are emerging.

The vice president explained that Cuba offered its help not only in matters of health but in the culture and sports sectors as well, and many Cuban collaborators are contributing to making life more pleasant for thousands who are still living in shelters. (Prensa Latina)
