Dominican Republic with 82 Cases of CholeraSanto Domingo, Dec 25. -In the last days, nine more cholera patients were reported in the Dominican Republic, for a total of 82 cases nationwide to date as authorities maintained a health alert.

Seventy-five of the 82 cholera patients were in satisfactory condition and only remained under treatment.

Authorities said they expected patients to be back at home this weekend, enjoying good health.

Secretary of State for Public Health and Welfare Bautista Rojas Gomez stated that the last nine cases were detected as a result of the intense monitoring by the National Epidemiological System.

The Secretary reiterated the epidemic is under control and the staff of this ministry continues to intensify prevention efforts. (Prensa Latina)
