Venezuela´s Ribas Mission Shows Results

Venezuela´s Ribas Mission Shows ResultsCaracas, Nov 18. -The Ribas Mission is celebrating its seventh anniversary of providing opportunities for Venezuelan youth and adults to begin or continue secondary education.

Over 600,000 have graduated from the program, which currently has an enrollment of 425,000 students, Ribas Mission president Orlando Ortegano stated.

According to Ortegano, like never before, the program has reached the most remote areas, where Venezuelans had never gone to school or had dropped out.

Enrollment is now linked to social and productive work in the context of student education and incorporation into the social and economic system, Ortegano said.

As part of that, nearly 800 students will be sent to different countries to carry out humanitarian missions, Ortegano said.

This educational program was created in 2003 in a bid to guarantee education for people who were unable to attend school or did not complete their studies. (Prensa Latina)
