Cuban Plaza Ready for Anniversary        Havana, Jul 25. – The Ernesto Guevara Plaza in the central Cuban city of Santa Clara shows all its splendor to celebrate on Monday the Day of National Rebelliousness.

On July 26, 1953, a group of young revolutionaries headed by Fidel Castro attacked the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons in eastern Cuba, fighting the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship, overthrown on January 1, 1959.

Since Villa Clara province was selected as headquarters for the central act marking the new anniversary, restoration and decoration works started around the plaza bearing the name of the Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla.

The vice president of the Provincial People's Power Assembly, Jose Ramon Comas told the National Information Agency huge images allegorical to the date were set up in the plaza.

The setting up of modern communication equipment, press halls, drinking water tanks, and spaces for health and Red Cross staff are part of the works done, he commented(Prensa Latina)
