Cuba Seeks to Attract Tourists from Spain and Portugal

Havana, Oct 13 .-The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR) will reportedly hold a business meetings to promote Cuban products and services in Spain and Portugal.

 

According to a Ministry’s report, during October 15 and 26, tour operators, airlines, travel agencies, hotel groups and the press will be able to learn about aspects of interest related to tourism in the Caribbean nation, among which stand out the programming of all operators who work the Cuban destination.

With the support of the Spain and Portugal embassies, the note adds, those who attend the professional contracting forum will be able to exchange on the facilities offered by the country for the development of different modalities, among which are included the traditional, Sun and Beach, Ecotourism, Cultural Tourism and others.

Also, they will know the current development of the destinations Pinar del Rio, Havana, Varadero, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Cayo Santa Maria, Jardines del Rey (‘ King’s Gardens ‘), Holguin and Santiago de Cuba, as main regions for the Spanish market.

The main events to take place in Cuba in 2019, such as the Ernest Hemingway Marlin Fishing Tournament, the Caribbean Festival or the Cuba Golf Tournament, will be promoted. In addition, participants will be invited to FitCuba 2019, Cuba’s most important Tourism Fair, to be held in Havana next year on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of its founding, and will be dedicated to Spain and the modality of events and incentives.

The main entities of Cuban tourism and foreign chains with representation in the Island will also be present, as well as important airlines, Spanish and Portuguese tour operators who are experts in the Cuban destination, who will make known their programming for the next tourist season, their products and services.

The different contracting markets will be held in Lisbon on 15, Vigo on 17 and Bilbao on 18. Subsequently, the event will be held in Cordoba on 22, Valencia on 24 and Madrid on 26.

According to the information issued by the MINTUR, the contracting markets or workshops are basically aimed at the training of the sales network, in order to increase their level of knowledge and motivation regarding tourism, facilities, novelties and other elements of interest. (Prensa Latina)
