Havana, May 30 .- About 600 national professionals from 20 countries are starting here the 3rd International Congress on Economic Management and Development, to be run until June 1.

 

The forum takes place at the Conference Center in Havana and is organized by Cuba’s National Association of Economists and Accountants (ANEC), an NGO with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, which has almost 80,000 affiliates throughout the island.

The opening ceremony includes an analysis of the Updating of the Economic Model, in charge of the Implementation Commission of that process, and previously the holding of several pre-congress courses.

Among the issues are: Accounting and environmental management, Smart cities, Business development, an agenda for management, Managerial quality, leadership and management teams, and Cooperativism and social responsibility.

According to organizers, no less than 120 papers and keynote speeches will be discussed at the event, by Cuban specialists, and others from Mexico, Italy, Spain, the United States, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and other countries.

Among those talks are The process of computerization of the Cuban Society: main impacts and developments, by Deputy Communications Minister, Wilfredo Gonzalez.

Dr. Juan Jose Duran, from the Autonomous University of Madrid, will also give a keynote speech about Geography and the strategy of the state-owned multinational company, and National Accounting prizewinner, Joaquin Infante, will speak on international trends in cryptocurrencies.

The Congress also includes several international meetings at the Conference Center, among them, the 12th Meeting on Accounting, audit and finance; the 5th Meeting on Public administration for development; the 3rd Meeting on Management and business management; and the 4th Meeting on Cooperativism.
