Havana, Cuba, Aug 23.- With the magic and appeal of an ancient art began the 2012 Circuba Festival, with a splendid show offered in the Karl Marx Theater in Havana.
Rolando Rodriguez Romero , director of the National Circus of Cuba and of the Circuba´s eleventh edition, noted that this time unite cultures, artists and entrepreneurs from over 20 countries , who for 10 days will offer 29 functions in Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
Artists of Cuba , Argentina, Canada and Russia delighted the audience with their technical skills, brilliance and high quality of the numbers presented , among which were the bolas dance quartet Los Gauchos, from Argentina, and the duo of acrobats- mother and daughter- from the Fantasy Circus, Canada.
As always the two girls with Compañia Habana, with their act of capillary force were very well welcomed and the Cuban juggler Jorge Perezof, who played at the same time with eight rings and five balls of a size similar to football.
Without any doubt, the evening was an appropriate preamble for competitions that will begin today in the Tromploco Big Top in two sessions, at four pm and 8: 30 pm, when participants will compete for one of the Circuba prizes , to be awarded next Sunday. (Radio Cadena Agramonte)
