Latest Results at Olympic Women’s Volleyball Qualifying Tourney

Tokyo, May 23. – On Wednesday, Russia remained undefeated in the Women's Volleyball Tournament, which is the final qualifying event for the Olympic Games, while Japan was defeated by South Korea and Cuba added its third defeat with just one victory, the same result of Peru. The hosts were overcome (3-1) in the closing match by the South Koreans, which currently total 2-2. The victory (25-18, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-13) ranks as the second game of such a tourney completed in four sets, the rest of them were decided in three.

Shortly before, the Serbian team won (3-0) over Cuba, whose only victory was against Peru, with the same score, and the Serbian women currently accumulate 3-1.

Also on this date, the Peruvians were defeated in three sets by the Russians, while Thailand blanked Chinese Taipei while adding a second victory with the same number of defeats, and the latter is yet to win.

After the Thursday break, the event will be resumed on Friday and will include matches between Thailand-Peru, Russia-Serbia, South Korea-Chinese Taipei, and Japan-Cuba.
