Cuba Denounces CIA behind HRF´s Actions

Havana, May 8. – The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a facade for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, which boosts subversive acts against the processes of change in Latin America, according to an article published in Granma daily on Tuesday.

The article, written by Cuba-based Canadian journalist Jean-Guy Allard, reveals that the CIA hides behind that organization to carry out campaigns to interfere in Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

The HRF, which was involved in the attempt to assassinate Bolivian President Evo Morales in 2009, is led by Cuban-American terrorist Armando Valladares, said the Canadian researcher, who is an expert in subversion-related topics.

Allard also charged that the HRF spread false information on the case of Venezuelan Judge Maria Lourdes Afiuni, in prison since 2009 for allowing rip-off banker Eligio Cedeño to flee Venezuelan territory.

In May 2011, the U.S. government granted political asylum to the banker and since then, it is using Cedeño in its campaigns against President Hugo Chavez, said Allard.

Valladares was in prison in Cuba for planting bombs in stores and theaters in 1960. He has always been a CIA collaborator since he moved to his adoptive country, Venezuela, noted the Canadian journalist.(Prensa Latina)
