Bolivia will Require Cuba’s Presence in Summit of the Americas

La Paz, Apr 10. – Bolivian President Evo Morales will demand that the Summit of the Americas in Colombia will be the last event of this kind held without Cuba, Minister of Communication Amanda Davila said on Tuesday.

Davila said that the head of state will defend the position of the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas (ALBA) that Cuba must be present due to a principle of sovereignty and respect for the right to self-determination of the peoples, the newspaper Cambio reported.

The adoption of a specific resolution in this regard is being analyzed, but the Bolivian president will defend in Cartagena de Indias that Cuba will be present in future meetings, said the minister, quoted by the newspaper.(Prensa Latina)
