Cuba Attends Meeting of WFTUJohannesburgo, Feb 9. – The secretary general of the Confederation of Workers of Cuba, Salvador Valdes Mesa, also vice chairman of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), participates in a meeting here of the Presidential Council of that body.

According to a note from the Embassy of Cuba in South Africa, this meeting will be held until February 11.

The note also points out that in this context, representatives of over 30 member countries of WFTU will discuss for four days on the theme of the event: Capitalism, Crisis and Imperialist War or Socialism.

The meeting of the Presidential Council, which is performed for the first time in Africa, is sponsored by organizations of workers belonging to the Congress of South African Trade Unions, says the note.

During its stay in South Africa, Cuban delegation will hold bilateral meetings with trade unions and the Tripartite Alliance, headed by the government of this country.(Prensa Latina)
