Fidel Castro’s Book Published in France

Paris, Jan 19. -Titled "Los caminos de la victoria" (The Paths of Victory), the French edition of the book "La victoria estrategica" (The Strategic Victory), by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, was launched in this capital on Thursday.The book, 25,000 copies of which were printed by the Michel Lafon publishing house, will be on sale as of today in all bookstores in Paris, Silvie Arhab, a member of the editorial house, told reporters.

In the text, the Cuban leader narrates how 300 members of the Rebel Army, led by him, defeated 10,000 soldiers of the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship in 1958.

The 658-page book contains 250 photos, maps and fascimile from that period, as well as a brief autobiography about Fidel Castro's childhood, adolescence and youth.

The Michel Lafon publishing house will publish in October his second book "La Contraofensiva Estrategica" (The Strategic Counter-offensive), Arhab said.

In that volume, Fidel Castro explains the course of the war in the Sierra Maestra mountains, the invasion from East to West, and the January 1, 1959, victory.

The French version of this second book will be also sold in Switzerland and Belgium. (Prensa Latina)
