Cuba to Host Intl Congress on Sex Education

Havana, Jan 7. -Specialists from 17 countries, including seven from Latin America, will take part in the 4th Cuban Congress on Sex Education, Orientation and Therapy, scheduled from January 23-26.Under the slogan "Sex Education in the Processes of Social Transformation", researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, the United States, Venezuela and Cuba will represent our continent.Participants from Europe include experts from Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Sweden.

Africa will be represented by Angola, while Asia will bring experts from Japan.

The event is organized by the National Sex Education Center of Cuba, led by Mariela Castro, and the Latin American Federation of Associations of Sexology and Sex Education.

Debates will focus on 20 topics, including diversity, gender and development, among others.

The website of the event announced that the 2nd Colloquium on Identities, Gender and Culture, the Symposium on Clinical Sexology and the 1st Meeting on Chronic Diseases and Sexual Dysfunctions will be in session parallely to the Congress.

The event is also sponsored by the campaign Join to End Violence against Women for Latin America and the Caribbean, the United Nations Development Program and the World Association for Sexual Health. (Prensa Latina)
