US Citizens Ready for A Global Protest

Washington, Oct 14. -Thousands of U.S. citizens are getting ready on Friday to join millions of people from the entire world that will take the streets and squares on October 15th to protest the financial system inequality, the protesters published.

Protesters from New York, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Dallas and other 60 US cities will join a global protest. On October 15th, Occupy Wall Street will demonstrate in concert over 951 cities in 82 countries and counting as people around the globe protest in an international day of solidarity against the greed and corruption of the 1%.

"The ruling powers work for the benefit of just a few, ignoring the will of the vast majority and the human and environmental price we all have to pay. This intolerable situation must end.", a communiqué issued on the 15october.net website noted.

"United in one voice, we will let politicians, and the financial elites they serve, know it is up to us, the people, to decide our future. We are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers who do not represent us.".

Thousands of peoples in United States will demand the reduction of the existing inequality between the rich and the poor, in a movement that will resound from coast to coast.

According to the protesters, one percent of U.S. citizens own 24 percent of the national wealth; and the 5 percent of them owns 40 percent of such wealth.

This movement is mostly made up by unemployed people, many of them professionals, teachers, public employees, union members and others.

The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement is expected to gain an important position in the national political debate of United States. The White House and national parties have been forced to pay attention to the protests that are expected to influence 2012 presidential elections. (Prensa Latina)
