Danny Glover Awarded with Tomas Gutierrez Alea Prize

Havana, Sep 15. -US actor Danny Glover received on Wednesday the Tomas Gutierrez Alea International Cinema Award at the venue of the Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC), in a ceremony in which he ratified his support to the Cuban Revolution.

"I have followed the process of the Cuban Revolution all my life," said the US actor thanking Cuban intellectuals for the high honor award.

Glover recalled his parents and said that he receives this prize at his 65 years old.

On Behalf of Cuban artists, poet Miguel Barnet and UNEAC president considered the actor an important personality of the arts and friendship.

"Danny has shown to be a real friend, challenging all risks, stressed Barnet.

The Tomas Gutierrez Alea award is granted to foreign personalities that have had historic links with UNEAC or with Cuba. (Prensa Latina)
