Baseball: Chinese Taipei Defeats Cuba at World Port TourneyRotterdam, Netherlands, June 27. -Chinese Taipei defeated Cuba 3-1 on Monday in the 2011 World Port Tournament.

Taiwanese pitcher Chen Kuan Ju allowed only two hits and one walk in nine innings to win the game.

The first inning was the only critical moment, when the Cuban team scored its run.

Chinese Taipei tied in the fifth and scored a run in the seventh and ninth innings against right-handed starter Yosvani Torres and relief pitcher Ismel Jimenez, respectively.

It was the second loss of the tournament for Cuba which was also defeated by Curacao 4-6 in game one, and later faces Germany to close the first round.

Chinese Taipei is leading the tournament with three wins, two of them over favorites Cuba and Netherlands.

The 2011 Wold Port Tournament ends Sunday, after two rounds and with the top two teams facing each other for the title. (Prensa Latina)
