Caribbean Films to Be Exhibited in New YorkBridgetown, Barbados, May 31. -The Caribbean Tales Film Showcase will exhibit Calypso Dreams and the documentary Fire on Babylon in New York on June 11, announced the Barbados company Caribbean Tales Worldwide Distribution (CTWD).

The first event of its kind will last a day and will close the activities of Caribbean Week of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (OCT) in the U.S. city and will include panel discussions and the exhibition of two interesting films.

The founder and CEO of the CTWD, Frances-Anne Solomon, said she hopes the showcase of Caribbean films will become an annual event in which they can celebrate the work of distinguished Caribbean filmmakers.

Solomon added that Showcase was also designed to integrate African-American filmmakers and promote this region.

Filmmakers from the United States, the Caribbean and its Diaspora will be brought together, to explore the opportunities in areas of mutual interest.

The day will start with the exhibition of Calypso Dreams, considered the best film made about that Caribbean rhythm and its roots in Trinidad and Tobago.

Fire in Babylon is an inspiring story about cricket in the Caribbean, about one of the most talented teams in sports history in the region and how they triumphed over their colonial masters. (Prensa Latina)
