Cuba Hosts Regional Event on Radiology, Health

Havana, May 30. -A regional meeting on ensuring radiation protection in cardiology procedures begins Monday with the attendance of renowned experts.

The objective of the meeting is to provide knowledge about radiation risk control in interventional cardiology, the organizing committee told Prensa Latina.

The issue is one of the main problems of radiation safety internationally, due to the increasing frequency of those applications in cases of heart disease.

The event is taking place in the framework of the Regional Technical Cooperation Project of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), RLA/9/067, under the auspices of the IAEA and the organization of the Center for Radiation Protection and Hygiene (CPHR), and will be held at the Hotel Melia Cohiba.
