Argentina, Brazil Smooth Over Trade Differences

Argentina, Brazil Smooth Over Trade DifferencesBuenos Aires, May 25. -The Argentine and Brazilian governments will complete two days of talks to eliminate recent trade tensions.

The talks between the Argentine Secretary of Industry Eduardo Bianchi and his Brazilian counterpart, Alessandro Teixeira, began Monday afternoon and lasted four hours, according to a brief press release.

Both governments had raised their concerns and were working to resolve every point of tension emerging from their trade, Bianchi said.

The talks were set by Argentine Industry Minister Debora Giorgi and Brazilian Ambassador Enio Cordeiro after the Brazilian gtovernment began applying non-automatic licenses for the Argentine auto and auto parts industry.

Giorgi said the measure was affecting 50 percent of total bilateral trade, and that the auto industry faced a growing deficit. (Prensa Latina)
