More lands to produce food in Southern Camaguey

Santa Cruz del Sur, Apr 29. –With some 10 thousand hectares of lands being worked, Santa Cruz del Sur has a 71, 4 % of exploitation of the farmed areas.

Such benefit, in a great deal, product of the Decree-Law 259, which regulates the delivery of lands on usufruct, and the reordering of the sugar sector, which brought about the increase of agricultural and livestock units.

Today, the number of people incorporated to farm labours ruled by the Law 259 has increased. With more than 600 thousand lands on exploitation.

According to directives from this sector, it estimated that this year, the increase of cultivated lands will have a positive impact on the food production for the population, and to contribute to the economic sustainability, and to strengthen the agricultural and livestock.
