Moscow to Host 2011 Modern Pentathlon World Cup

Moscow to Host 2011 Modern Pentathlon World CupMoscow, Mar 27. -Moscow will host the 2011 Modern Pentathlon World Cup instead of El Cairo, the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) announced.

The modern Pentathlon World Cup was due to take place in Egypt next 6-14 September, but that country declined to host it because of the difficult political situation after the popular uprising last February.

On the other hand the International Skating Union, ISU, also selected the Russian capital to host the 2011 World Figure Skating Championships, which was scheduled for next April in Japan.

After the earthquake that hit Japan on March 11 the ISU was forced to change the venue of that universal competition.

In addition to the pentathlon and skating world championships, Russia will host the World Athletics Championships in 2013 and the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. We cannot forget that Russia will organize for the first time the football World Cup in 2018.(Prensa Latina)
