UN Chief to Visit Ecuador Quito, Feb 12. – UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is expected to arrive in Ecuador on Sunday night for a state visit, the Foreign Ministry confirmed.

The UN chiefâ�Ös agenda starts on Monday, when he is scheduled to meet with President Rafael Correa and Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino.

The main objective of this visit is to back the Ecuadorian Governmentâ�Ös democracy and legitimacy, according to the official release.

Ban is also scheduled to meet and take a picture with the blue helmets of the Ecuadorian peace-keeping unit and will be declared Distinguished Guest and given the keys of the city at the Metropolitan District in Quito.

His brief visit is expected to conclude on Monday afternoon after meetings at UN offices in this capital.(Prensa Latina)
