ALBA, African Officials to Attend Cuban ForumHavana, Jan 20. -Education ministers from Africa and from member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America are expected to attend the Pedagogy 2011 Congress next week at the Havana Convention Center, according to organizers.

Cuban Deputy Minister Rolando Forneiro told Prensa Latina that the event, to be held Jan 24-28, will include lectures by Cuban Education Minister Ena Elsa Velazquez, Minister of Higher Education Miguel Diaz-Canel and Bolivian Education Minister Roberto Aguilar.

Other speakers are scheduled to include the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, Youth and Sports of Guinea Bissau, Artur Silva, who will present results of the literacy campaign in his country with the implementation of Cuban "Yes, I Can" method.

Venezuelaâ�Ös Education Minister Jennifer Gil is also expected to attend the event and tour Cuban schools to present experiences about the Canaima Plan under which every Venezuelan first and second grade student will be handed over a mini PC.

At least 3,100 participants from 23 countries, including 600 Cubans, have been granted accreditation so far. (Prensa Latina)
