Excellent Cuban-Russian Relations Highlighted

Excellent Cuban-Russian Relations HighlightedHavana, Oct 22. -Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura and Russian Vice President Alexander Dmitrievich Zhukov emphasized the excellent state of relations between their countries, the national press reported on Thursday.

They agreed that the current state of bilateral ties is an expression of the historic relations of friendship between the two peoples and governments.

On Wednesday, Machado Ventura welcomed Zhukov, who is also president of the Russian Olympic Committee and is on an official visit to Cuba.

Both leaders noted the positive development of cooperation between their countries and highlighted the existing potential to expand these ties.

Zhukov was accompanied by Russian Ambassador Mikhail Kamynin and the deputy chief of the Secretariat of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander E. Barannikov.

On the Cuban side, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and other officials of the Foreign Ministry attended the meeting. (Prensa Latina)
